New Year's Resolutions

I don't usually make New Year's resolutions because I always break them, but htis year I am going to make some and vow to try and keep them!

2009 Resolutions:

1) Take a risk and venture out of my comfort zone

2) Cherish every day. Every day above ground is a good one.

3) Reach out and touch someone in some way

Then and Now

As my first grandbaby begins to experience his first Christmas, it brings me back to when my first child ( his mother) had her first Christmas. Nolstalgia time!
Above is a picture of my daughter circa 1976 at her favorite pasttime--playing with presents and ornaments. She is about 7 1/2 months at her first Christmas. Now fast-forward to 2008 and the bottom picture. Here is my first grandson on Santa's lap at his first Christmas. He is about 2 1/2 months.
For more nostalgia, look at the following post with pictures from then and now. All taken at Christmas 1976 or 2008.
  1. This is a picture of my daughter and my mother. Mom is gone now--watching from above, I'm sure, at her great grandson and his Christmas follies.
  2. Here is a picture of my daughter and her dad standing by our tree in our little apartment.
  3. Here is my grandson and his dad--at their favorite place Bass Pro Shops.
  4. Back to 1976-- daughter and mother by the Christmas tree. I'm not sure why we are wearing bandanas. Must be a fashion trend! At least we match. :) Check out our little TV. That was it.
  5. Here is my daughter all grown up with her first born. The circle of life continues.

A generation has passed, but it seems like a short time. I guess that is how my parents felt and their parents before them.
Do you have pictures in your photobooks of you and the Christmas tree?

BRRRR.........

Welcome to winter~
Today is the first day of winter and it sure feels like it too! Temperatures hovered in the single digits all day and wind chills were in the negative numbers. More of this to come too. Get out the scarves and mittens!

Snow Days

Outside it is snowing. Yesterday it rained ice. Not much, mind you, but enough to cancel school. And again this morning the schools were closed. SNOW DAYS! Every child's wish and most parents' dread.

What to do on a snow day? Make hot chocolate, have the fireplace going, and of course--watch The People's Court! :)

Jumping In

The time has come. The time is now. I am jumping over to Blogger to share my thoughts and give a glimpse of the view from my world.

I have kept a blog on Yahoo 360, but many have jumped ship. So I, too, am jumping. My hope is that my friends from there will visit me here.

New friends and older friends.... I invite you to pull up a chair and join me. Let me share my view of the world with you. I welcome you to jump in and leave a comment if you wish.
